Start with shaft size

Pillow block bearing units are selected around the shaft. The bore size must match the equipment shaft, so shaft diameter should be confirmed before selecting a model. If the application is a replacement project, check the existing bearing number and measure the shaft rather than relying on memory.

A similar looking unit can still have a different bore size, housing height or bolt spacing. For this reason, the shaft diameter should be treated as the starting point, not the only selection point. Confirm mounting dimensions

Bolt spacing is a common source of mistakes in replacement orders. A unit that matches the shaft may still fail to fit the machine base if the mounting holes do not match. If the old housing is still available, measure the base and compare it with the product drawing before confirming the order.

Review working environment

Conveyors, packaging equipment, agricultural machinery and general industrial machines may expose bearing units to dust, moisture, vibration or difficult maintenance positions. These conditions influence seal preference, lubrication planning and packing requirements.

Do not make the selection only from appearance. A clean indoor conveyor, a farm machine, and a packaging line with frequent cleaning can require different confirmation points. It is better to describe the application and environment during quotation than to correct a mismatch after the products arrive.

Packing and quotation information

For a clear quotation, provide model number, quantity, packing requirement and destination port. If OEM or neutral packing is required, confirm label, carton and pallet requirements before production.

A complete inquiry allows the supplier to check the product range, packing method and export support at the same time. If the model is not known, provide shaft diameter, photos, application, working environment and the approximate housing dimensions. The supplier can then guide you to the closest standard series or advise whether a sample or drawing is required.
